Colorful rare vintage 60’s-70’s Zuni multi stone inlay covered wagon collector’s bolo and belt buckle set. Starting with the belt buckle, the artist uses a rectangular oxidized setting and builds the covered wagon onto it. The artist uses triangular cut turquoise and black jet to inlay the wooden wagon which includes a smaller piece of turquoise for the person to set on and a coral inlaid piece for the foot rest. The canvas cover is made with highly reflective mother of pearl and black jet. The two (2) front wheels are made with round wire and a circular turquoise inlay that extends out from the wagon and are built into the buckle where they freely turn. The two (2) wheels on the inside are cut out of the blackened base and made with round wire. There’s a four-sided coral section which I take as a wheel stop and the remaining two (2) pieces of turquoise would be the harness for the horse. There’s a row of silver drops and twisted wire coming off the wheel stop as is there’s a row of silver drops coming off the foot stand. The artist cuts out the blackened background base in a wavy configuration and wraps the outer rim with twisted wire. Finishing with a swivel type belt clasp and solid set pin mounted to the back side. The bolo tie is made mainly the same way without a background. As with the buckle, the front set of wheels will freely turn. The artist attaches a BENNETT PAT.PEND. thumb locking clasp on the back. It comes attached to a 6-ply soft braided black leather cord along with custom made end tips which have turquoise set wagon wheels attached to the tips.
