Artisan hand carved/cut gourd container jewelry box. The artist has cut open an actual gourd and decorated to become a trinket box. He’s cut the top off in a wavy rolling cut and cleaned out the matter from the inside to let dry and harden. Painting the inside of the gourd red and has hand sewn a leather rim around the bottom section with the stitching coming together to include a bone and copper bead. He finished by painting the inner edge of the top part of the gourd black, polishing the outside of both parts, and attaching a leather base on the bottom.

The decorated gourd measures approximately 8” tall to include the stem by 6” wide. It weighs 95.1 grams (3.35 oz) and is signed on the bottom Jay Baker ‘05 Flagstaff, Arizona USA. Can’t tell you if Mr Baker is native or not? Really cool gourd trinket box! $116.95
