Large vintage Navajo Blue Gem turquoise and silver decorated watchband. Each watch tip displays two (2) turquoise polished nuggets from the Blue Gem Mines set into smooth silver bezels with a total of six (6) large silver drops placed in sets of two (2) above the top stone, between the stones, and below the bottom stone. The artist also adds a coiled scroll under the bottom stone. The artist adds large half round wire down both sides and applies two (2) sunrise stampings with notches cut on both sides of each sunrise. He finishes each watch tip by running smooth wire across bottom to hold the stretchband and attaching a twisted wire stick with a silver barrel tube across the top for the watch pins.

The watch tips each measure a large 1 3/4" by 1 1/8" across tapering out to 3/4" across the bottom. The watch pin holders measure 17mm (approx. 11/16"). The watchbands weigh 41.8 grams (1.47 oz or 1.34 ozt) are attached to a new 4" long adjustable stainless steel stretchband. We can exchange for a shorter stretchband if requested. Based on the actual hand done notching (which is rarely seen) and other craftsmanship, I tend to attribute the watch tips to Navajo silversmith Jimmie Long (b.1942-1973) who basically produced between 1960-1970 .
