Large, bold, and heavy Navajo modernistic Fox turquoise and Mediterranean coral overlay pendant. Made by Michael Perry, he’s incorporated traditional Navajo symbolism into a modern styled pendant. Starting with a thick three (3) layer stack of sheet silver he’s inlaid a strip of spiderweb turquoise into both sides of the pendant and textured the top of the second silver sheet. The third sheet he has cut out a thunder lightning bolt and a mixed design of kiva and water symbols. He’s inlaid the lightning bolt with beautiful Mediterranean coral while leaving the textured surface exposed through the kiva/water symbol cut out design. Mr. Perry finishes the pendant section by mounting in the center an oblong oval cut and polished blue turquoise stone into a custom fingered bezel. I believe the stone is from the Fox turquoise mine. He didn’t stop there! The thick double layer silver bale displays inlaid spiderweb turquoise across the top and down both sides finishing the bale by adding sunrise and full moon stampwork on both ends of the turquoise inlay.

The solid pendant measures 3” by 1 1/4” across and including the bale stands almost 4” tall (3 15/16”). It weighs a hefty 68.6 grams (2.42 oz or 2.21 ozt) and is hallmarked M P - Sterling by noted Navajo artist Michael Perry.
