Beautiful vintage 40's-50's Zuni multi stone inlay Hopi Bird bolo with matching inlaid end tips. The bird is made with multiple stones and shells set in individual channel settings to create the Hopi Bird. Both of the end tips are made the same except on a smaller version. The artist uses blue turquoise with brown matrix, orange coral, mother of pearl, and black jet to create the magnificent birds. The artist uses two (2) large silver drops at tip of head feather, two (2) silver drops between the tail feathers, and a total of four (4) silver drops between the wings. The artist also runs twisted wire across the top of the shoulders and wings.

The artist also has decorated the end tips with identical Hopi Birds on on a smaller scale which measure 1 3/16" by 3/4" across and with one having it's head turned the opposite way. There's also decorative stamping on the cones. The main Hopi Bird measures 2" tall by 1 3/16" across and is attached to the 4mm black braided leather cord with a BENNETT PAT.PEND. C-31 thumb locking clasp. The leather cord measures 42" long which includes the 3 3/8" long decorative inlay Hopi Bird and sterling silver end tips. The complete bolo weighs 39 grams (1.37 ounces or 1.25 troy ounces) and is unsigned Sterling Silver. Based on research and comparison (Hopi Bird and Sun Face in Zuni Jewelry by Toshio Sei), I attribute the beautiful Hopi Bird bolo set to Zuni lapidarist/silversmith Myra Tucson made around the 1940's to 1950's era. Beautiful high end vintage Zuni crafted bolo by one of the masters of the time!  $389.95
