Large vintage Navajo Stormy Mountain turquoise bolo tie. I believe the stone is from the Stormy Mountain/Blue Diamond Mine. Solid high quality blue with black and dark brown matrix shooting throughout the stone.The silversmith has set the stone into a sawtooth cut bezel. The artist continues by adding a large silver leaf to both sides of the stone with large silver drops placed at both ends of both leaves. The artist continues by placing decorative stamped wire across the top and bottom of the stone. Finishing by attaching a BENNETT PAT.PEND. thumb locking bolo clasp on the back.

The actual bolo pendant measures 2 1/4” by 2 3/8” across and is attached to a 4-ply black braided leather cord with silver end tips. The cord measures 45” long which includes the 2 1/4” long sterling seamed bead end tips. the complete bolo tie weighs 60.6 grams (2.14 oz or 1.95 ozt) and is stamped Sterling - W. I’m attributing the piece to Woodard’s Indian Shop. Marion Woodard operated shops from Gallup and Santa Fe, NM to Tucson and Scottsdale, AZ starting as far back as 1943. The BENNETT PAT.PEND. thumb clasp leads me to say the bolo was made in late 70’s to early-mid 1980’s. $738.95
