Beautiful extra large Navajo sterling silver stamped jewelry box with legs! The jewelry box displays a large stamped and repousse diamond eye feathered concho outline with repeating snake jaw stamping around the top of the lid. The artist continues with decorative stamping completely around the sides of both the lid and base. She adds pointed corner legs to all four corners of the base and attaches the lid with two (2) wire and tube clasps on the back and a padlock clasp on the front. The extra large silver box measures 4 7/8" by 2 7/8" and stands 1 5/8" tall from legs to top of lid. The inside depth is 1 1/4". It weighs 254.9 grams (8.99 ounces or 8.19 troy ounces) and is signed SUZIE JAMES - STERLING on the underside and also hand initialed by the Navajo artist. I heard that Ms. James was recently in a serious accident and may not be capable of producing in the future?
