Beautiful vintage Hopi silver overlay Standing Bear with Symbols bolo tie by Emery Holmes. The silversmith has created an arrowhead shaped overlay setting displaying a standing bear along with water (river) symbols. I understand the symbols relating to hunting the bear and crossing river numerous times along with following around the bend of the river before being confronted by the bear in a stand off. The artist has overlaid the cut off polished arrowhead plate over a textured silver base. He’s finished by attaching a double wire hoop bolo cord slide on the back.

The arrowhead setting measures 2” tall by 1 3/4” across. It’s attached to a new 4-ply black braided leather cord with new 8mm seemed bead end tips. The cord measures 46” long which includes the 2 1/4” sterling bead tipped end tips. The complete bolo weighs 37.7 grams (1.33 oz or 1.21 ozt) and is hallmarked EH staggered and connected with a HC staggered/connected for Hopicrafts. Guaranteed Sterling Silver.
