Item #976M- Vintage 50's-60's Zuni Turquoise Inlay Knifewing Sunrise Stamped Sterling Silver Decorative Bolo Tie
Vintage 50’s-60’s Zuni turquoise inlay Knifewing deity bolo tie. The artist starts with an abstract rectangular setting and lays an outline of the infamous Knifewing deity in the center and adds miscellaneous silver drops and pieces around the Knifewing outline applying sunrise stampwork on silver pieces across the top and bottom. The artist uses eleven (11) pieces cut to fit inside the deity outline also adding silver channels across the chest and hat. Some of the turquoise displays brown matrix. The artist finishes by running stick silver wire down both sides stamping and cutting the sticks along with attaching a BENNETT PAT.PEND. C-31 (used from 1957 to 1967) safety locking bolo clasp on the back. We received the bolo missing an end tip and the cord was rotted so we have added a new 4-ply braided leather cord and new sterling silver end tips.
