Item #998H- XLG Vintage Navajo Turquoise Stamped Sterling Silver Leaves Decorative Bolo Tie Hallmarked
Extra large vintage Navajo three (3) stone decorated bolo tie. Not really sure how old it is, but would say 60’s-70’s era. The bolo displays high quality turquoise consisting of a light blue with reddish brown, light golden brown, and rust brown matrix each stone set into a smooth silver bezel. The artist adds two (2) silver leaves above the stones along with a large silver drop. Adding long scrolls and sticks of twisted wire and stamped bird tracks around the stones. The artist finishes decorating by applying repeat feather stamping around the outer rim along with thick gauge smooth wire around the edge. The large bolo pendant appears to have started as a belt buckle, then converted to a bolo, then a necklace, and finally back to a bolo. We repaired the bolo clasp on back and added a new cord and end tips. We purchased a large inheritance from a person which inherited from their grandfather. Evidently the grandfather would take damaged Native American jewelry pieces and convert to beaded necklaces? (see the small hole drilled at top) Along with the different jewelry pieces the lot included numerous beads in different sizes and shapes.
