Beautiful bold vintage 60’s-70’s Navajo turquoise shadowbox squashblossom necklace. The silversmith has done a lot of time saking work on this necklace. Starting with adding decorative stampwork on each bead prior to soldering the two (2) halves into a single bead. The artist also has created eighteen (18) turquoise shadow boxes using ten (10) for the blossoms by adding the trefold extension and double slide on the back and eight (8) used for the naja. Both the blossoms and naja shadowbox conchos graduate in side starting with smaller at the ends and larger blossoms working to the naja as is also size in center of naja. The naja pieces are attached to a double triangular wire frame with the center and drop down shadowbox all using same silver base along with two (2) silver drops imitating separation. The whole necklace is strung on foxtail chain with a shepherds hook and eye clasp.

This isn’t a small necklace by any means! It measures 27” long end to end with a wearable length of 16” measured from clasp straight down to bottom of naja. The necklace consists of one hundred twenty four (124) 10mm decorative stamped sterling silver beads, ten (10) turquoise shadowbox blossoms that measure 1 7/16” by 3/4” up to 1 1/2” by 7/8”. The naja measures 2 3/4” by 3” across. The complete necklace weighs 215 grams (7.584 oz or 6.912 ozt) and is guaranteed sterling silver. The necklace was mostly black with patina/tarnish and didn’t notice the stampwork on the beads until we cleaned. $1967.95
